The Somali Community Cultural School is split into three sections to address individual issues:
  • Parents Forum
    • Due to the differences in culture and communications there has developed a great divide between children and parents. The forum has been established to support parents in issues that affect children's education, community cohesion and addressing anti social behavioural issues.
  • Language School
    • The school has established a range of activities that provide basic skills for adults, academic support for children and young people as well as providing mother tongue language support.
  • Skills Centre
    • The community has a vast range of skills. However members have difficulty in the application of this skill within the UK due to a number of barriers that include language, new technology and communication within the work place. Therefore the skills centre will develop and enhance skills enabling community members to enable them to become 'job ready'. Currently SCCS offer vocational training in Sewing, IT and preparation for work programmes.

The centre is located in Sheffield city centre. Click 'How to find us' in the menu for more information.
